The Supervisory Councillor for Budget and Planning in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Bala Akwu has stated that the 2014 budget for the council would bring about unprecedented socio-economic development to the people.
Hon. Bala Akwu made this known during a meeting with members of the Finance and Budget Department in his office at Idah recently.
In a press statement signed by the council Information officer, Ibrahim Ochoja and made available to The Graphic Newspaper, Akwu noted that the council boss, Dr. Major Musa Abdutalib would ensure thorough implementation of the 2014 budget.
He added that Abdutalib would utilize fund allocated to the local government judiciously by embarking on meaningful projects that have direct bearing on the lives and property of the people.
While commending the legislative council for express passage of the budget, he called on the people to support the council boss in order to move the local government to a greater height.
Meanwhile, the Supervisory Councillor for Finance to Idah Council Chairman, Hon Jummau Abdullahi has called on the people of the area not to lose hope on the present administration under the leadership of Hon. Abdutalib.
While commending the council boss on his people-oriented projects, she said the local government was lucky to have Dr. Major Musa at the helm of affairs because he is a committed leader.
She noted that the projects executed by the council chairman are of benefit to the people, adding that the Subsidy Reinvestment Projects (SURE-P) phase I and phase II projects have been executed to expectation just as 10 different projects scattered across the local government area have been carried out.
