Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris has described Captain Wada’s opponents in the December 3 gubernatorial election as “empty barrels that make lot of noise.”
Wada’s main opponent in the PDP is Alhaji Jubrin Isah Echocho while Prince Abubakar Audu and Barrister James Ocholi are is main opponents from other parties.
The governor, who stated this while answering questions from newsmen at the State House, Abuja, denied that he preferred Wada’s candidature in the last PDP governorship primaries.
He insisted that the party’s choice was his choice as well. “I don’t have any candidate-as long as they are for PDP they are for my party.”
He dismissed insinuations that there was crisis in the PDP, saying the party was prepared and will win in free and fair elections.
On how prepared is the party to for the election, the governor said that PDP is fully ready for the election. He noted that “just cool down and see what is going to happen. You know in most cases you find out that empty barrels make lot of noise. Shortly you will know the truth.”
