Senator Ahmed Ogembe representing Kogi central has mourned the demise of General Salihu Ibrahim, saying, the Ebira Kingdom has lost a rare gem.
Ogembe who in a statement personally signed by him and made available to news men described the late Lt. General as one who dedicated himself to the service of his people and community after retiring from a spectacular career in the nation’s armed forces.
“There is no doubt that the Late General was a patriot who played historic roles in the country’s development and been our son, it’s a thing of pride to us.
“Therefore, his death is a colossal loss not only to Ebira nation but to Nigeria as a whole beacause a rare gem is gone,” he said.
He added that the late General left an enviable records while serving Nigeria in various capacities as a gallant officer.
Ogembe urged his family, well-wisheers and Ebira people to be comforted in the fact that General Salihu served his people and country to the best of his abilities while he lived.
“I pray to Almighty Allah to grant him Aljana Fidau and console the entire family he left behind, the statement added.
