The Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, says he wish those who wish him death long life, promising to rededicate himself more to the service of the state.
Capt Wada made the remarks at a reception to welcome him back to the state, said he leaves those who peddled rumour about his health and death in the hands of God.
The Governor thanked God that the evil intentions of mischief makers never saw the light of the day, called for all hands to be on deck in ensuring the success of transformation agenda.
The governor disclosed that negative intentions against the state will no doubt have had a ripple effect on the state, urged citizens of the state to be charitable and not to hold malice against one another, disclosing that it is God who gives power.
The governor preached the message of peace and cooperation amongst citizens of the state,said he has within available resources, created opportunities for growth and development, solicited loyalty from people of the state to enable the state to make the desired progress.
Earlier, Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor, commended the Governor for dedicating himself to the service of the state, said the governor has shown determination to live the state better than he met it.
Awoniyi thanked God for not allowing the intentions of the detractors to prevail,pledged the loyalty of people of the state to the cause by the governor to develop the state.
Also speaking, Prof Olugbemiro Jegede, Secretary to the State Government, said while the work of rumour mongers only last for a while thanked god that the governor is in the state flesh and blood,commended the governor for his leadership style which has given the state a sense of direction.
