Kogi state governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has charged the new Ohi of Adavi local government area of the state to use his humility and contacts to effect development of the land.
Governor Bello gave the charge on Saturday during the coronation of Alhaji Mohammed Ireyi Bello as the second Ohi of Adavieba.
The governor who described the new First Class traditional ruler as a man of humility and high integrity, urged him to use his work experience as a retired civil servant to weave the people together for the peace and development of the land.
While promising to built a befitting palace for the monarch, governor Bello enjoined the people of Adavi to cooperate with the new Ohi in the interest of peaceful coexistence of the land.
Earlier, the Administrator of Adavi local government area Mr Joseph Omuya Salami commended the kingmakers and sought for the cooperation of Adavi people to enable the new traditional ruler perform based on the expectation of the people.
Salami also appealed to other traditional rulers in the council to work harmoniously with the monarch for the development of the land.
Also speaking at the occasion, an elder statesman from the local government, Alhaji Isah Ozi Salami, described the new Ohi of Adavi as a courageous and principle man that will use his experience for the betterment of the people.
“The new Ohi is a courageous man, highly principle and he is resource material under any circumstances. He is dogged for justice and I have no doubt in my mind that we have made the right choice” he said
He called on leaders in Adavi community to give their support to the new traditional ruler for him to succeed in the onerous task ahead of him.
In his remark, the Ohi of Adavi, Alhaji Mohammed Ireyi Bello thanked the state government and the people of Adavi for finding him worthy of the highest traditional stool, assuring that he would not disappoint them.
According to him: “The crowd today clearly shown the level at which the people of Adavi loved me and I will use this position of Ohi to bring all the clans together so that the local government can enjoy appreciable development”
