I Will Source For Funds To Pay 100% Salaries, Wada Assures Kogi Workers

Governor Idris Wada has been commended for listening to the labour unions and for his promise to source funds to pay workers a hundred percent of their salaries.

According to a statement signed by Abu Mike, Chief Press Secretary, to the Deputy Governor, said the inability to pay salaries by over 22 states of the federation, was occasioned by fall in oil revenue, commended the state governor for his promise to pay workers salary in full.

The statement described the governor as a worker friendly governor, said his disposition to making the welfare of workers a priority, has remained consistent.

The allocation to the state for the month of April, Abu explained was N2.7billion while salary for workers he said added was N3.2billion, commended the governor for his promise to source funds to pay the workers.

While noting that the governor has promptly paid salaries since he assumed office, disclosed that the state is among states that are up to date in salary payment in the country.

The statement praised workers for their patience, appealed to them to be patient as efforts is on to pay the April salaries, lauded their sacrifice in the face of the present economic realities.

Mr Abu commended the state labour for their show of understanding and for embracing dialogue, urged them to continue in that spirit as it is only under such a conducive environment will the state make the desired progress, assured of better days of prosperity for the workers and the state.
