As the 7th Kogi State House of Assembly officially commences sitting, sons and daughters of Igalamela/Odolu extractions have made no secret of their delights over the involvement of the state lawmaker representing the local government, Barr. Cosmas Ilemona Atabor in what has been described as positions befitting his knowledge, skill and experience.
Some of the citizens of the local government who took to different social media platforms described the massive involvement of Cosmas Atabor as a departure from the ineptitude and unproductivity of the immediate past which greatly hampered the pace of development in the region and the state at large.
A statement made available by the Personal Assistant to the lawmaker, Com. Alih Nasir indicates that Hon. (Barr) Atabor H. Cosmas occupies the following positions on the House Standing Committees:
1. Chairman, Judiciary and Justice.
2. Vice Chairman,
Establishment, Trainings , Pension and Public Services.
3. Member, Public Petitions and Human Rights
4. Member, Ethics and Privileges
5. Member, Physical Planning, Urban/Rural and Regional Development
6. Member, Education, Science and Technology
7. Member, Special Duties and Legislative Compliance
8. Member, Economic Planning, Budget and Monitoring
9. Member, Youths Sports and Social Development
According to the legislator, “expectations are high but I assure the members of my constituency, who have been deprived of quality representation for far too long that we will not only get the job done but also get it perfectly done”.
