AN OPEN LETTER TO HON. TAJUDEEN AYO YUSUF, MEMBER OF THE FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, REPRESENTING KABBA-BUNU / IJUMU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, KOGI STATE AHEAD OF 2015 GENERAL ELECTIONS.
Sir,
I am compelled to address you on the above subject matter through this medium. This approach has however become imperative as all efforts to get the matter across to you without recourse to public knowledge, have failed.
Since the year 1999 when democracy returns fully in Nigeria, good people of Kabba-Bunu / Ijumu Federal Constituency, Kogi State have resolved and/or adopted principle and/or system of rotation of power among the two Local Government Areas that constituted the said Federal Constituency I.e Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu and its works for them.
For instance, in the year 1999 under the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) the post / office of member to represent Kabba-Bunu /Ijumu Federal Constituency was zoned to Ijumu Local Government Area when former Commissioner of Finance / Agriculture, Hon. Samuel Abiodun Ojo emerged from Ijumu-Oke axis. Subsequently, in the year 2003, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area took over the slot when Hon. Durosinmi Meseko from Bunu axis became member, Federal House of Representatives. Thereafter, Hon. Daniel Dino Melaye emerged in the year 2007 from Gbede axis in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State. In the year 2011, you ( Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf ) emerged from Kabba axis in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.
Ahead of 2015 general elections, there are strong indications that you (Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf) will re-contest as against our political culture, norms and/or tradition. Although you’ve not declare your intention publicly to re-contest but your body language have communicated that.
However, I want to advice you ( Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf ) to understand and/or respect our mutual agreement and/or arrangement to continue rotate the said juicy job.
Sir, you’re working and performing as a good, capable and vibrant federal lawmaker in term of effective representation and dividend of democracy to your people back home but you should also know that base on our existing political agreement and/or arrangement, it’s Ijumu Local Government Area turn and Ijumu Aarin I.e Iyara, Ikoyi, Iffe, Ekinrin-Adde and Iyamoye to be precise.
Sir, Hon. Daniel Dino Melaye’s political misfortune / failure started like this in the year 2011 when he re-contested for the said respected position / office.
Sir, i also want to advice you (Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf ) not to foment and/or create trouble or violence that can result to political unrest in our political landscape ahead of 2015 general elections because our tradition, belief, culture is against such act and our tradition is supreme and superb.
Rotation of power is the answer so as to promote peaceful co-existence and enhance sense of belongings.
I strongly believe that you ( Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf ) will understand my plight, request and prayer.
