The Editor News of a privately owned radio station, Grace FM, Tunde Fredrick was on Friday morning attacked by yet to be identified hoodlums.
The hoodlums, numbering five, accosted the news editor and beat him blue black while fixing his car around cemetery road in Lokoja, Kogi state capital.
Confirming the incident, the Nigerian Police, Kogi State command, said the force has commenced investigation and vowed to apprehend the hoodlums.
Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, who visited Frederick in the hospital where he is receiving treatment, assured him that the police is on top of the matter.
Fredrick, who is presently on admission at the hospital, said the hoodlums alleged that the Radio Station had reported the sale of cannabis sativa, popularly called Indian hemp, along cemetery road their place of business.
The editor added that the hoodlums were irked by a report by the radio station which they say is capable of affecting their business and patronage.
The Editor News is still in an unstable condition as a team of medical personnel are making frantic efforts to stabilize him and to save his life.
