The Kogi State Governor has been commended for being sensitive to the welfare of people of the state.
The Special Assistant to the State Governor on Policy and Political Matters, Hon Sani Salihu made the remarks while reacting to the 2015 budget, which he explained took into cognizance the challenging financial times, but made the welfare of the people a priority.
Hon Sani described the budget which made the payment of salaries, women, youth and empowerment as well as infrastructural development a priority as worthy of commendation.
The Special Assistant lamented the insinuation made by a civil rights activist in Lokoja that the budget in 2014 centered more on payment on salaries, said since the inception of the Wada administration, the people especially workers have been key, urged critics of government to be well informed before making insinuations.
Hon Sani said while the recurrent expenditure no doubt attained a hundred percent success in 2014, the administration also made substantial impact in the agriculture, education, health and other sectors which he noted benefited all segments of the people in the state.
Hon Sani disclosed that as a civil service state, the payment of salaries has remained a top priority, and commended the governor for his efforts at drastically cutting down on cost of governance, said it is the governor’s further demonstration of sacrifice which he noted has once again come to the fore, urged the people to support the administration achieve its sets goal in 2015.
The Special Assistant described the emphasis on education and health as well as women and youth empowerment as an efforts that should be appreciated, disclosing that the 2015 budget, with discipline and cooperation of citizens would reposition the state for good fortunes.
Sani called on critics to make inquiries into government income and expenditure over the last few years, before making insinuations, disclosing that the governor has been transparent and accountable since he assumed office and commended his judicious use of resources.
