Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Honourable Salman Idris, has praised Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for fulfilling his campaign promise to pay West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees for public secondary school students.

Governor Ododo approved N600m for 18,734 students, a significant increase from last year’s 15,033 beneficiaries. This gesture, in line with the Free Examination Fee Law, has eased the burden on parents and guardians.

Honourable Idris commended Governor Ododo for sustaining people-oriented policies, demonstrating his commitment to education and the welfare of Kogi State citizens.

He said the move has boosted public confidence, encouraging more parents to enroll their wards in public schools.

“Governor Ododo’s leadership has shown that campaign promises can be fulfilled,” Honourable Idris said.

“His dedication to education will positively impact future generations.

“The Governor’s plan to pay JAMB and NABTEB fees, as well as first school leaving certificates and Basic Education School Certificates, further demonstrates his resolve to make education accessible.”

Honourable Idris praised Governor Ododo’s vision, saying, “he has won the hearts of Kogi State people by prioritizing their needs.”

“This development reinforces Governor Ododo’s commitment to improving lives and ensuring 100% education completion at the secondary level.”
