Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa is the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi State house of assembly and of course one of Kogi born finest politician who has given all his best to serving humanity. His leadership prowess can be traced as far back to his humble background and growing privilege cum antecedents.
From the renowned family of Alhaji Isiaka Alfa(Wali) of Enabo in Ankpa Local government area. Been that one can not run from his shadow, the ebullient honorable grew up to find himself in politics, a strata of life the father has hitherto played with a non career commitment. His leadership tendency beckoned as far back at secondary school at Federal Government College Ugwolawo in Kogi State where he served as a senior house prefect.
As common with many successful brilliant students, he upon completion of his secondary education furthered to the prestigious Bayero University Kano and he also held sway there as the public relations officer of the student union. Those who are conversant with student unionism will see it as little or no surprise for Hon Rabiu to have attained the height he is at today as emerging spokesman is one of the most competitive contest on Nigerian school campuses.
Destined to fullfil Gods purpose, Hon Rabiu ventured into mainstream politics in the year 2007 contesting for the house of assembly sit of his constituency on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria People’s Party and lost to the then ruling People’s Democratic Party in his first two(2007 and 2011) outings. Resolved to serve his people, he never gave up despite two unsuccessful outings and thus, his focus and consistency paid off in 2015 where he carpeted his opponent in a keenly contested election.
Interestingly, his period under review at the state house of assembly so far is greeted by many good testimonies coming from the constituents. The important lesson to learn from Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa’s political success therefore is to never lost focus, believe in aspiration and utilize every opportunity of service to the tune of the people. In the end, no matter how minute; hard-working with focus always yield pleasant results.
