The Minority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Yori Afolabi, has alleged that in its desperate attempt to remove the leadership of the House, the executive arm of government is dangling N15 million to any lawmaker who consents to the plot.
In an interview with newsmen in Lokoja, Hon. Afolabi who described the move as an attempt to pocket the House, however assured that the exercise was a wasted one, as it would never see the light of day.
He posited that majority of the members are solidly behind the Speaker, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, whom he said, was doing a good job, adding that the plan to remove all the principal officers, just like the previous efforts, would fail.

The lawmaker further wondered why the executive arm of government was hell-bent to destabilise the House, when resources could be channeled towards improving the living conditions of the people.
He therefore advised governor Idris Wada to concentrate on how to deliver democracy dividends to the people, warning that any attempt to forcefully remove the leadership of the Assembly would be resisted, stressing that over N6 billion was voted for capital projects in this year’s budget, pointed out that so far, nothing has been released in that regard, insisting that the administration was yet to find its feet, nine months after coming to power.
He equally warned against forging the signatures of the members in a desperate attempt to get the needed constitutional requirement to remove the leadership, saying such action would be suicidal.
