Hon. Lawi Repairs Okene General Hospital, Clears Patients’ Medical Bills

The member representing Okene I State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed cleared the medical bills of patients in the paediatric and maternity wards, repairs hospital, donated generator set, bed sheets and mosquito nets to Okene General Hospital.
Hon. Lawi made the donations on Friday when he visited the Okene general hospital to celebrate his birthday with the patients in the hospital.
Hon. Lawi, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, clocked 41 yesterday.
Accompanied by his teeming supporters, Lawi also promised to build a standard laboratory in the general hospital and equip the laboratory with advanced laboratory equipments.
“I will build a standard laboratory in this general hospital where people from all walks of life will come for there medical assistance,” he said.
Hon. Lawi stated that the gesture is part of his contribution towards the well-being of his constituents, and maintained that, the funds came from his pocket.
The lawmaker was however disappointed at the dilapidated state of the of hospital called on Kogi state government to give the necessary attention to the hospital.
Responding on behalf of the hospital managements, the deputy director nursing service Mr. Usman Omeiza, thanked the lawmaker for his kind gesture shown to the patients and really appreciate him for all his donation and his stride for giving the health sector a facelift especially Okene general hospital.
He also used the opportunity to call on the well meaning people to emulate the lawmaker by supporting this hospital towards making it one of the world-class hospitals.
Some of the patients who benefitted from the lawmaker kind gesture shower prayers on Lawi for choosing to celebrate his 41st birthday with them and also call on every other politicians especially those currently holding political positions to learn from this kind man and give to the less privileged in their society.
