As Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo approaches the conclusion of his first year in office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and CEO of Sultan Homes Nig. Ltd, Hon. Jimoh Onimisi, has joined other well-meaning citizens in commending the administration’s achievements in governance, infrastructure, education, and economic development.

Speaking in Abuja, the real estate developer and politician praised the governor’s policies since assuming office, describing them as transformative and people-oriented. “Governor Ododo’s administration has made significant strides in education by paying over ₦600 million in WAEC fees for 18,000 students across the state. This intervention will go a long way in ensuring that no child is left behind in obtaining secondary school certification due to financial distress.

“Furthermore, the payment of bursary allowances worth more than ₦216 million to over 8,000 tertiary institution students provides much-needed financial relief to young scholars,” he said.

Hon. Onimisi also hailed the cancellation of tax clearance as a requirement for student registration, a progressive move that stakeholders in the education sector have widely applauded for eliminating unnecessary barriers for students.

According to the former House of Representatives contestant, Governor Ododo’s administration has also recorded significant progress in infrastructure and economic development. “The Kogi Development Plan was legislated to guide sustainable growth, and the federal government approved the construction of an international airport in Lokoja, a project expected to boost economic activities and connectivity.

“Road construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation efforts have further enhanced transportation across the state.

“Farmers benefited from the distribution of agrochemicals and seedlings, aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and ensuring food security within his first year.

“The governor has prioritized workers’ welfare by ensuring the prompt payment of salaries and swiftly implementing the ₦72,500 new minimum wage, making Kogi State one of the first in the country to adopt the policy.

“In the area of security, the state government distributed 105 vehicles and motorcycles to enhance law enforcement operations, while healthcare has received a boost through the upgrading of health centers, improving access to quality medical services.”

Hon. Jimoh Onimisi described these achievements as a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of Kogi citizens and residents.

“Governor Ododo has set a strong foundation for growth. His policies are truly transforming lives and positioning Kogi State for a brighter future,” he said.

As Governor Ododo enters his second year, expectations remain high for even greater strides in governance and development.
