A former House of Representatives member representing Okene/Ogori-Mangogo constituency, Honorable Abdulaziz Idris King has empowered fifty women with ten thousand naira each as part of his widow’s mite to their warfare.
Hon King made the token empowerment during a political gathering in his country home Okene today.
He enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money to boost their trade. He promised that within the next few months he will make funds available in addition to what individual has received today.
“I want to assure you that I am in politics to uplift and champion the course of the masses not on personal enrichment to the detriment of the public. Today we have course to celebrate our success as a group that align with the present administration under the able leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello the Executive Governor of Kogi state,” he said.
Hon. King appealed to the electorate to support the governor as we are moving towards his re-election for second term.
In her response, Madam Khatum Salawu commended him for keeping to his to women described Honorable King as a true politician who identify with the suffering of the women folk and pledge their support to him with the present administration.
In his remarks, Honorable Moshood Omuya praised Hon. King for alleviating some of the problems confronting them despite that he’s out of office.
Honorable Omuya described him a political leader that has the interest of the people at heart and urge the women to always support him.
Apart from the financial assistance to the women, each women went home with a new textile which was also part of his promise to the electorate.
