Special Adviser to the executive governor of Kogi State’ on Political Matters, Hon. (Chief) Femi Stephen Owoniyi (Omoga) has applauded the rare magnanimity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in appointing Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
Through due diligence, the Presidency unanimously announced the nomination of Ijumu – born Prof. Amupitan as the INEC umpire for an initial five years tenure.
“The appointment of Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan is a testament to his high- level discipline, shorlarly prowess and apolitical stance on national issues,” Hon. Owoniyi said.
He continued, “Nigerians are on the verge of entering into another round of electioneering period, I’m optimistic that Professor Ampitan possesses the moral rectitude, discipline and integrity to oversee our elections and take the electoral body to the next level post Yakubu Mahmoud era,” he affirmed.
“Going forward, it is my fervent prayer that the new INEC Chairman shall succeed in this arduous task of conducting free, fair, and credible elections for all Nigerians,” he concluded.
