The Senior Special Assistant on Print Media to Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Avoyi Billie Nwogu, has congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on his victory at the apex court.

Hon. Nwogu spoke immediately after the pronouncement in Lokoja, describing the victory as the affirmation of the will of the people.

According to her, the Supreme Court judgment shows that sectional sentiments do not prevail over factual facts and genuine truth that holds dear the people’s trust.

She stressed that the outcome of the judgment was about the collective interest and good of the people of Kogi state, rather than opposition personal interests.

She stated that the judgment is a clear indication that the people’s mandate has been upheld, and Governor Ododo’s leadership reaffirmed.

Speaking further, Hon. Nwogu said the Supreme Court did not just affirm the validity of Governor Ododo’s mandate but also served as an admonition for all to collectively join hands with the Governor to work for the betterment of the state.

The SSA on Print Media emphasised the need for unity and cooperation in moving the state forward, adding that the apex court’s decision is only but a proof to the democratic process and the rule of law.

Hon. Nwogu enjoined Kogites, especially the opposition camps to put aside their differences, and join hands to build Kogi state to a greater height.

“The time for politics is over, it’s time to unite and work together for the common good of our dear state.”

Ahmed Usman Ododo was born 7th February 1982. He has been serving as Governor of Kogi State since 27th January 2024.
