In a significant step towards grassroots empowerment and effective governance, Hon. Monday Amoka Eneji (Odu), the Executive Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area, inaugurated 11 ward councilors, signaling his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Okehi LGA citizens.
Following his victory in the October 19 LGA elections, Hon. Amoka Eneji reiterated his resolve to build on the achievements of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whose visionary leadership has been a model of transformation for Kogi State.
Recognizing the need for grassroots involvement in governance, Hon. Eneji announced his plan to appoint Community Special Assistants at the LGA level, inspired by Governor Ododo’s successful Local Government and Ward Special Assistants program.
This initiative, according to the council chairman, will not only reward party loyalists for their dedication but also ensure that every corner of Okehi LGA feels the impact of good governance.
As the newly inaugurated councillors assume their roles, Hon. Eneji has charged them with the responsibility of working collaboratively to advance the Governor’s development agenda in Okehi. He emphasized that, under his leadership, the local government would prioritize projects that improve infrastructure, enhance education, boost local economy, and promote social welfare programs that uplift the most vulnerable members of the community.
