By Comrade Nasir.
It is all joy and relief for the family of a middle aged indigene of Enjema district of Ankpa local government area of kogi state as the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu shouldered and footed the medical bills of a constituent (name withheld) who underwent double operations (fibroid and appendix) in Lokoja.
The patient who is reportedly married for six years without any issue is said to, unknown to her, infected with fibroid since teen age and perhaps good reasons to her erstwhile barrenness. The husband made the disclosure while expressing his gratitude to their benefactor stressing that the gesture was divinely arranged.
In his words: “I cannot even explain this miracle, we came to Lokoja with the intention to do scanning and go back only for the doctors to say my wife have been living with fibroid for years and I said where do I run to? A thought came to me that I should just look for transport mobey and go back to Ankpa and rally round but as soon as I called Alhaji Rabiu, he only rushed straight to the hospital and asked doctors to commence the operation immediately.”
Speaking further, he narrated how he had never wanted to seek favor from any politician because empty promises which he termed to be their characteristic and vowed never to henceforth judge any individual until he privately reckons with the person.
On his part, Hon Rabiu described the gesture as a pact he has with his people and thanked God for giving him the resources attend to the beneficiaries at a trying moment. “by oath, I owe Ojoku/Enjema people all my resources till the expiration of my tenure and I thank God for making it possible for me to assist my siblings at their time of need.” The distinguished honorable asserted.
It will be recalled that the young representative had sometime last year extended a similar gesture to a family whose wife put to bed triplets and this round of kindness has deepened his commitment to the quality health care of his constituents.
