At the hill of the 2015 general elections, Nigerians were so desperate for a change in party system that even if a goat was flown on the seasoning All Progressive Congress, such candidacy will be embraced. Like the adage which says~”only the spectator will know the best fighting techniques”, Nigerians and particularly Kogites assumed so much knowledge about governance that every policy by the then ruling People’s Democratic Party was seen as inept.
This gave the opposition All Progressive Congress great boost as Nigerians at home and in the diaspora were all affected by the euphoria of a possible over night miracle once power is wrestled from the then ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The sensitization was very high and everybody became keen about governance. The situation then was more like a civil revolution than an election in offing.
Hmmmmm! Alas, its almost two years later and the reality of things relatively to the expectations is better left unsaid as that is a topic for separate discussion.
Nigerians are already tired of the much dreamt All Progressive Congress(APC), the desired has seemingly become a disaster, the glorified has become a groaning, the crown like logo has become a clown and as natural for such disappointment, the people are very eagered for another election as that is the only way to separate the wheat from the shaft.
However, the APC still has some breath of hope via the effort and score card of some of the party men whom are doing justice with their mandates. Worthy of mention in this category is Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa, the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi State house of assembly. He has in the period under review done the party, himself, his canvassers and supporters proud via series of unprecedented developments as never witnessed to the credit of a serving house of assembly member in the area.
Within the space of two years, he has among other things constructed a borehole at Enjema ward one, closed market shops at Ofugo, classrooms renovation at Inye, Anyitata and Awo. Also among the projects initiated by him are the fencing of LGEA primary school Okaba, building of open door cubicles and facelift of Ojoku central market, special donations to youths solely for their entrepreneurship development, women empowerment and other Initiatives too numerous to mention.
In concluding, I will say without any ambiguity that “Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu has demonstrated leadership is all about service” and I call on his contemporaries to emulate his good feet by delivering services to both God and humanity. No doubt, in the end; history shall beacon based on chronicles.
