Omala LG Administrator, Alhaji (Hon.) Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh has declared a state of emergency on feeder roads linking various communities/settlements in Omala LG.
This declaration came when he flagged off three different roads linking Ogodu viz: Ogodu-Ojeh road, Ogodu-Olla road and Ogodu-Oji-Aji road.
Alhaji Aboh said, “we are not unaware of the socio-economic importance of feeder roads to rural dwellers in our area. The said importance arose our consciousness to address the precarious challenges the road is posing to our people.
“It is based on the above premise that APC government, under the auspices of Governor Yahaya Bello led administration, anchored on New Direction, championed by myself and my team in Omala is taking the bold step today by officially commencing the grading and repair of these roads to bring succour to our people”
“It is our desire to leverage on the dry season to extend dividend of democracy to our people, considering the long term abandonment of these roads by successive administrations. Our government will continue to accord priority to the plight of our people. Continue in your support for this government, together we shall develop our land”.
The senior Special Adviser to Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Adaidu Akoh, appreciated the kind gesture of Governor Yahaya Bello and the Administrator for making the project see the light of the day. He urged youths and members of the communities to accord the contractors maximum corporation while the project lasts.
On ground to witness the event is the Omaba of Ogodu, HRH, Daniel Salifu, immediate past Chairman of Omala LG, Hon. Labran Oyigebe, the SSA to the Governor on Media Matters, Hon. Atuluku Victor Levi, the DLG, Alhaji Aliyu Abalaka, heads of security agencies in Omala,Special Advisers to the Administrator, party faithfuls and supporters and the Special Adviser to the Administrator on Project Monitoring, Hon. Mathew Ochada, who assured the people of the communities that quality job will be carried out.
The people expressed delight saying, there has never been a time they even sighted a tractor on this said road since sixteen years they have been agitating for this.
These roads will be followed by other feeder roads cutting across the length and breath of Omala local government.
