Harmony International School has emerged winners of the ‘Catch Them Young’ tax quiz competition organized by Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS).
The winner, Harmony International School was gifted ₦50,000, 1st Runner – Up, Muslim Community College won ₦30,000, 2nd Runner – Up, Government Science School got ₦20,000) while the 3rd Runner – Up, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja went home with ₦10,000.
KGIRS Director of Administration and ICT, Mr. Alex Akande, who represented Executive Chairman of the Service, Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe, said eight secondary schools attended, with four competing: Crowther Memorial College, Muslim Community College, Government Science Secondary School, and Harmony International School, all in Lokoja, the state capital.
KGIRS thanked the State Ministry of Education for partnering with the service to organize the quiz competition.
He explained that the “Catch Them Young” quiz competiton aims to educate and inspire future taxpayers, fostering tax awareness and compliance among youth. This initiative promotes financial literacy and responsible citizenship.
