It’s a sound assertion beyond rhetoric and contest, that the administration of His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State has left no kogite in the wilderness of doubt about his unwavering readiness and resolve to change the unpalatable narrative of the past, to the best ever, every kogites wished for in terms of sensitivity to their plights and prompt responsiveness in bringing to dead end the disturbing and bitter experiences.
Umpteenth time, His Excellency GYB has stated loudly and clearly his mission and vision for kogi state, which form the fulcrum of his drive for governance in the state, which is to bring a paradigm shift that would return the state to the part of greatness via utilising the resources of the state for the well-being of it citizenry. Crystal obvious, the transparency, accountability and detribalised ideology of the New Direction agenda in its dealings had changed the mentality and expectation of the people towards governance and leadership. That’s why the New Direction Blueprint where enshrined the step-by-step solution to the grandstanding problems retrogressing our forward movement as a state has been well compiled and released for the masses to peruse and point as a gauge of performance at the end of these administrations life.
Leadership is all about capacity, character and integrity. But where the last is undermined or lost, deceit and injustice abound. GYB, in furtherance, to fulfilling his electoral promises without excuses of any sort, places premium on returning comfort and succour to the people through aggressive but tactical pursuit cum restoration of long age deplorable federal infrastructures and public utilities in the state with expedient importance to avert more discomfort and accompany danger to the users.
In the light of the above, comes the latest people oriented visit of GYB to the super minister of power, works and housing; Hon. Babatunde Raji Fashola, purposefully to work his talk and increasingly nourish his unassailable integrity of always fulfilling promises proclaimed. It’s about a new dawn for the good people of kogi state, as the digital Governor received an assured commitment from the minister as regards rehabilitation of the despicable situation of federal roads in the state which includes; Lokoja-Okene-Lagos road / kabba-Isanlu-Egbe- Ilorin road /Lokoja-Okene-Benin road / Okene-Ajaokuta-Itobe Road. We must not decline to commend the efforts of past leaders concerning the roads, as we all know, government is continuum and it’s a guarantee, the New Direction vigour and commitment would drive to logical conclusion the long age plight to long age plus.
Also on the priority discussion with the minister, is the epileptic power situation in the state, that has not only revert back the life of the people to an out of fashion stone age but also paralyse economic activities of both high and might which consequently aided the festering hardship in the state and beyond. Hence, there is hope of improved power supply at sight.
Therefore, the only GOOD expected of every patriotic and development enthusiastic kogites, is to continually support the administration at all fronts, to evidently engender the dividend of democracy to all without sectionalism or caveat.
