Gunmen Thursday abducted two people along the Ejule-Otukpa road at Agala-Iga community in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.
A community leader, Sylvester Audu Anyebe, said Matthew Ahmed, an auditor with Olamaboro LGA and his younger sister were seized by the abductors who were demanding N10m ransom as at press time yesterday.
He lamented that kidnapping has assumed a dangerous dimension and appealed to the government and other relevant authorities to help address the problem.
He said not long ago, two brothers where kidnapped around the same area and a huge sum was paid before they were released.
He said the same set of hoodlums had been terrorising travellers and members of the community, especially along Ogene-Igah-Ikeje-Otukpa road, Ogbagebe area, Ikeje-Igah-Ogugu road and Ikeje-Okpo road. According to him, the hoodlums usually waylay motorists to rob or kidnap them for ransom.
