Lokoja-Kogi Alliance For Equity and Justice, a non political group, has called on all stakeholders to support Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu to emerge as the Secretary to Kogi State Government (SSG).
In a statement signed by Hon Ibrahim Abdullahi and Isah Abubakar, Chairman and Secretary respectively, which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, the group noted that the emergence of Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu (SAS) as the Secretary to Kogi State Government would reflect balance, equity, justice and integration in the New Direction government led by Governor Yahaya Bello.
They also argued that Akawu has worked to popularize the APC in his capacity as the Deputy Director General campaign in 2015 and 2019 in the Kogi/ Lokoja Federal Constituency and beyond.
“Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu has over time demonstrated his commitment to the success of APC, administration under His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and need to be in a member of state executive council so that the good people of Kogi State can benefit from his vast experience,” they stated.
According to the statement: “Saidu Akawu Salihu, a chieftaincy title holder of Galadima of Igu Kingdom( Koton Karfe), is a detribalised Nigerian and a grassroot leader, a fact reflected in the just concluded elections.
“He is patriotic, outspoken and a goal-getter with experience and capacity to engender consensus among contending interests, hence, he will be an asset to the New Direction Government and Kogi State in general.”

The group also added that the wide acceptance of the former Commissioner and lawmaker was demonstrated in 2018 when he declared his intentions to contest for Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency House of Representatives slot, was a clear indications that Galadima Akawu Salihu is a politician to be reckoned with in Kogi State.
“Saidu Akawu has demonstrated leadership whether you consider his forays in politics, philanthropy or youth empowerment and we are sure that his emergence as the Secretary to the Kogi State Government (SSG) will be added value to the APC, government and the Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello-led administration.”
