A group identified as the Smart Adeyemi Support Organisation in Kogi State has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the elections in the state local government councils, over alleged election fraud.
While addressing Journalists and supporters of the Peoples democratic Party (PDP) in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, on Saturday, the coordinator of the group, Mr Fehinti, said the conduct of the March 28 polls in the local government councils was characterised by intimidation from the All Progressive Party (APC) hoodlums.
While the PDP is calling for the cancellation of the elections, the APC members are still celebrating the victory recorded by the party, insisting that the 2015 Presidential and National Assembly elections were the best ever conducted in Nigeria.
The APC won most of the state’s National Assembly seats, but the PDP is insisting that the APC’s victory was made possible through electoral malpractice.
