Kogi Democratic Group has described the decision of the Supreme Court on Kogi governorship appeals as a dangerous precedence that threatens Nigeria’s growing democracy.
The group wondered why Nigerian judges will be saying a different thing in the public and doing another thing in hidden, saying the decision of the apex court to dismiss the case of Capt Idris Wada fell short of expectation and not consistent with the expected status of the apex court.
He said no sooner that the CJN, Mohammed Mahmood spoke extensively on controversial judgements by judges at the opening of the new legal year 2017 and complaints of petition to presidency, the same source has influenced the supreme court judges on the Kogi scenario.
The body promised to protest the apex court judgement at the NJC after the September 30th when the court will give reasons on the unacceptable judgement in the Kogi legal case.
He warned the bench judges to turn a new leave to protect the hard won Nigeria’s democracy as the same judiciary made several attempt to scuttle democracy at its infancy and during the serial military putsch preceding our democratic process.

The group said the decision of the supreme court on kogi issue is a formal invitation to chaos and anarchy to the Nigerian polity so as to create opportunity for body of benchers to perpetrate their inordinate tendencies.
Nuhu said the decision of the apex court is final, but has brought the entire judicial system in Nigeria to disrepute before the international community promising to make a strong case to NJC for a review of Kogi political conundrum and revisit by the apex court.
According to him, “the good people of kogi state have insisted that they did not vote for Yahaya Bello but late prince Abubakar Audu who died in the middle of the election while the apex court deliberately abandon and overlooked all the flaws for obvious reasons of compromise”
He described the supreme court ruling as rape on Nigeria democracy.
