Ahead of party primaries, the Atai Aidoko Ali (AAA) Continuity Group has rejected the on going social media assessment of Kogi East senate race.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the group argued that the assessment is just a mere opinion of privileged elite which does not represent the voting population of the area.
Speaking on behalf of AAA Continuity Group, Idris Yakubu said after due consultation with members, it noted with regrets the sentiments adopted by the purported opinion poll.
Idris stated that the online poll is a deliberate attempt to rubbish the hard earned reputation of Senator Aidoko.
He described the online judgement on the social media, particularly Facebook, as laughable and wondered how it will be transmitted as an objective template to guarantee the victory of a candidate in an election.
The spokesman said the parameters used failed to capture the support of market women, traders, farmers and other artisans.
“Aside the elites and social media tigers, the template employed is totally subjective and not objective.
“The attempt is part of many planned propaganda adopted against the sitting Senator Atai Aidoko Ali for obvious reasons. Some persons have primordial interest and are bent ousting him at all cost.
“The assessment on the social media is theoretical and not practical as required by the electoral process. These are mere wishful thinking that may not translate to reality.
“Atai Aidoko Ali Continuity Group advise electoral assessors and predictors to put into consideration the plight of the people of Kogi East. Any attempt to further mortgage the commonwealth and the welfare of the people of Kogi East will be regrettable and not augur well for the political development,” he said.
Idris said Senator Atai Aidoko Ali has good intentions, programs and policies for the people of Kogi East but a few disgruntled elements that have constituted themselves as opposition within.
He argued that the disgruntled elements have no good intentions for the people of the area.
