Some residents of Kogi State have protested rising crime wave and insecurity in the state.
Ebira Must Be Better (EMBB) group on Friday staged a peaceful protest in Lokoja calling on Governor Yahaya Bello to step up security of lives and property in the State.
The group also noted that the waves of violence, robbery and kidnapping in the state had become worrisome and
asked Governor Yahaya Bello to rise up to the occasion.
President of the group, Comrade Danfulani Ohinoyi Lukman, explained that the protest was to call the attention of the governor that mothers now live in fear following the kidnapped of a school child in Okene some months ago.
He said: “As concerned youth of the nation, our walk is to draw the attention of our father, Governor Yahaya Bello and other senior government officials to the worrisome state of security we live under.
Just last week, armed gunmen stormed police station in Osara area of Kogi state and killed two policemen. This development has left everybody, especially parents in pains as we are no longer certain of what can befall our beloved children while in school custody.
The group, which condemned the waves of violence and kidnapping in the State, stressed that the nefarious activities of cultists should be tamed by the government.
