A Kogi State political group-Kogi Progressives Alliance, has accused the presidency and former Vice president Atiku Abubakar of fueling the lingering political crisis in Kogi State.

According to a statement released and signed by its Secretary-General, Alhaji Musa Abdulkadir, the group alleged that the ‘obvious support’ being extended to Governor Yahaya Bello is enough indication that both the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Presidency and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar are keen on their support for the political instability in Kogi State.

‘’We have been watching with utter disbelief that the President Muhammadu-Presidency and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could be parties to the massive impunities and political instability that is ravaging Kogi State since the death of Audu Abubakar.

“It’s an open secret that Governor Yahaya Bello, has been capitalizing on his warm rapport with President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar to unleash terror and all manner of illegalities on the good people of Kogi State without being reprimanded by the appropriate authorities.

‘’Governor Yahaya has caused so much disaffection and manipulation among members of the State House of Assembly that the legislative Chamber is now in a disarray. He has manipulated only 5 members of the State Legislature against 15 of their colleagues, apart from ordering the withdrawal of the police orderly of the Speaker, Honourable Momoh Jimoh, all under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari.

‘’President Buhari cannot run away from the fact that is the leader of APC, and we all know him to be a man of sterling attributes, so it’s terribly disturbing to us that he could allow all these illegalities to scale through under his leadership.’’
