Graphic Newspaper MD Attains Golden Age

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kogi State Newspaper Corporation, the publisher of The Graphic, Pastor Dayo Thomas will attain the golden age of 50 on 22nd August, 2019.

Towards the event, Dayo Thomas 50th Birthday Planning Committee has released programme of activities for the celebration.

According to the statement, the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Mrs.Ayoade Folashade Arike will be the Special Guest of Honour at event lined up to honour the celebrant.

The celebration which is billed to take place at Hope Confluence Hotel, behind Oando Filling Station, Ganaja junction, Lokoja at 4.00pm will have Hon. Abdulmalik Abdulkarim, DG Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Mobilisation as the Guest of Honour.

Amongst those expected at the event include the Kogi state commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Rosemary Osikoya; former Ondo State Commissioner Information, Hon. Kayode Akinmade as the Chairman, Dcn. Aaron Peters Ajibade and Chief (Mrs) Module Toyin Awoniyi as father and mother of the day respectively.

The royal father of the day will be the Olujumu of Ijumu kingdom and Chairman Ijumu Local Government Area Traditional Council, HRM Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni JP. Pastor Ayo Adun, Senior Pastor, Millennium Christian Ministry is expected to be the Guest Speaker.

Pastor Dayo Thomas was born in Ponyan, Yagba East Local Government Area. After his elementary education in the town, he moved to University of Jos where he studied Political Science and later Studied Mass Communication.

Before his appointment as the MD/CEO of The Graphic Newspaper, he had served in several capacities including Senior Legislative Aide to the former Senate President, David Mark, Director of Press and Communication to the office of Senator Gbemisola Saraki and Director- General Kogi state Governorship Campaign of Aisha Audu Emeje.

He was at various times, Assistant Editor, Thisday Newspaper, Chief Correspondent with The Punch and Editor with Africa Mail. He has worked in many international organisations as a consultant on information and communication strategy.
