Govt House Chapel; Kogi Speaker Commends Governor Bello

Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly has commended Governor Yahaya Bello on his commitment and determination to right a wrong of the past.

The Speaker made the commendation while addressing Journalists shortly after the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) National President, Rev. (Dr) Olasupo Ayokunle and Governor Yahaya Bello performed the foundation laying ceremony of the Christian worship centre in Government House, Lokoja yesterday; 22nd July, 2019.

According to him, Governor Bello has proved overtime to be a man of good character that is on a mission to take the state to another level of development in unity.

He said the Governor’s determination to embark on such project at this time despite being a Muslim Governor shows his level of sincerity and good heart to carry everyone along under the new direction agenda.

He said this has further shown that the new direction administration under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello mean well for the people irrespective of the tribes, religion or social class they may belong, noting that he has successfully overcome the three evils that used to draw back Nigeria as a country.

“Governor Yahaya Bello has made another landmark achievement by commencing building a chapel in the Government House, a feat his predecessors did not deem worthwhile, hence beaten their records in the state.”

He said this is what is expected of a leader who truly cares for the total needs of his people, both physical, mental and spiritual,  which will go a long way to create religious harmony in the state.He said he will continue to work with his colleagues in the 7th Assembly to collaborate with other arms and stakeholders to make laws that will promote good governance I  the state.

He called on all and sundry to rally round and support the Governor’s second term bid for him to consolidate on the gains of the administration in the last three and a half years.
