Ahead of November 11 governorship election in Kogi state, candidate of Action Alliance, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh’s campaign has continued to gain more supporters.

Braimoh, on Sunday, received more defectors into his Action Alliance party as he takes campaign to the eastern senatorial district of the state.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Labour Party in Ogbonicha, Alloma and Ofabo wards in Ofu local government decamped to AA.

They include; LP Women in Ofabo, Joy Ayebe, Samuel John, former APGA Chairman, Lydia Onu, ex APC Women Leader, former women leader of PDP, Mrs. Jane Jarius from Ofabo Ward, Audu Ogwu, ex-PDP Ogbonicha ward Chairman and about 500 supporters from these parties who also decamped and declared their support for the AA governorship candidate.

This is coming after the Woman Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and 100 supporters defected to AA and threw their weight behind Olayinka Braimoh and his running mate, Alh. Tijani Imam.

In their respective speeches, leaders of the defectors said the rich manifesto of the AA governorship candidate endeared them in the party, saying they believed that Otunba Braimoh meant well for the people of Kogi state.

The decampees assured Braimoh of their unalloyed support, saying they were ready to mobilize support for him.

They pointed out that for the sake of equity, fairness, and justice, Kogi West and particularly the Okun extraction should produce the next Governor, adding that Otunba Braimoh is a candidate to beat.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of AA, Alh. Yahaya Tijani Imam expressed delight over the development, pointing out that they have made the best decision.

“Action Alliance has come to Kogi to rescue our people from poverty and from the sufferings we have been going through for years. I want to assure you that AA is the solution to the problems and Kogi State,” he said.

He described Otunba Braimoh as a humble man with vast experience capable of creating wealth for the people of the State.

A chieftain of AA in Kogi East, Simeon Ogwu said for the state to be liberated, all lovers of Kogi State should vote for Olayinka Braimoh and Alh. Tijani Yahaya Imam.

“Olayinka Braimoh and Alh. Tijani Yahaya Imam’s candidacy is a sellable ticket anywhere, anytime in the world. We are standing strong to support Olayinka Braimoh and Alh. Tijani Yahaya Imam to become the next leader of the State,” Ogwu stated.

Braimoh told the gathering that he was on a mission to alleviate poverty from the state.

“I am on an assignment to alleviate poverty in Kogi State. Four democratically elected Governors have done their best and only depended on federal allocations. I have the blueprint to drive cash inflow into our State to avoid over-dependence on Federal allocation,” Braimoh said.

The governorship candidate said he is not distracted by what people are saying but focused on his assignment as the people are understanding the movement.

According to him, his vision is to ensure that every household stops depending on a few that are rich for survival, hence the STAT Agenda which focuses on Solid Mineral Development, Trade, Agriculture and Tourism.

He added that with the massive support, he will emerge victorious come November 11th.

He also visited Saint Paul Catholic Church, UEC Churches in Alloma and Ofabo as well as Alloma Central Mosque where the religious leaders shower prayers for his ambition to be successful.
