Governor Tasks Dangote, Jonathan Over Obajana-Kabba-Egbe Road

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State yesterday urged Alhaji Aliko Dangote to use his connections with President Jonathan to boost efforts of the State Government to see that the Obajana-Egbe road is reconstructed since Obajana Cement is located along that route.

The visit, which was the second phase of the official flag off of the presentation of Dangote Foundation’s N220M grants to women from the 21 LGAs witnessed an extra-ordinary State Ececutive Council meeting held in honour of Alh. Aliko Dangote, during which he was admitted as Honourary Member of the Kogi State Executive Council.

Governor Wada Commended Dangote for his love for Kogi State and supports on humanitarian grounds when he doled hundreds of millions of Naira to alleviate the sufferings of persons displaced by the 2012 flooding that ravage 9 councils in the state; the governor, at the commendation exco meeting, was full of praises for Dangote for the establishment of the Obajana Cement Factory close to the largest in the world; Gov Wada urged Dangote to invest more in Kogi as a “son of the soil”, with emphasis on agriculture, which is top on the Transformation Agenda of his administration, and coal as a source of energy, the governor said the state government is willing to clear a 20,000 hectares of land for the establishment of the sugar factory
