Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon Wemi Jones, says the commitment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to quality education in the state has remained unabating.
Jones made this known while representing the Governor at the 9th convocation ceremony of the Federal University Lokoja on Saturday.
He said Governor Ododo is dedicated to taking education to the next level.
In his address to the graduating students, the Commissioner congratulated them and urged them to strive for greatness in life.
He also commended the Vice Chancellor and management team of the university for their efforts in producing graduates who excel in both character and learning.
Furthermore, the Commissioner emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the university, citing recent legislative efforts to improve road safety around the campus.
The state government has enacted laws to restrict certain vehicles from the university highway, as well as initiated construction of alternative routes to ensure the safety of students and other road users.
