Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has has approved the first phase of intervention projects at the Kogi State College of Education Ankpa.
Provost of the College, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba made this known during a meeting with the Ejeh of Ankpa, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Yakubu in his palace at Ankpa.
Dr. Fashagba noted that the intervention projects will improve teaching and learning at the Institution.
He explained that the projects included fixing industrial borehole to lessen perennial water shortage in the campus, renovation of some of the classrooms that are in bad shape, provision of solar energy in the hostels and classrooms to aid conducive learning environment, and renovation of provost lodge.
According to him, the Governor has also promised that the second phase of the intervention project will focus on campus road maintenance at the possibility of sponsoring executive bill on dual mode policy, which will amend the state law for the college to run degree side by side with NCE, which is the order of the day in Federal colleges of education
He applauded the priority attention being given to the College by Governor Ododo, pointing out that the project when completed will give the school a face lift, a better status and a more conducive learning environment for the students.

“I want to appreciate our indefatigable and amiable Governor and Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for his magnanimity in approving the first phase of project intervention at the State College of Education Ankpa. This intervention is timely and a good move towards making the College compete with its counterparts across the country,” he said.
He thanked the Ejeh Ankpa for his support towards the development of the College, stressing the need for its sustenance.
Responding, the Ejeh of Ankpa, appreciated the Governor for coming to the rescue of the College and assured of his commitment to attracting the attention of relevant agencies for intervention to develop the college.
He lauded the Provost for being proactive in the discharge of his responsibility, assuring of his support at all times.
