The out-going governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has awarded contracts for the electrification of Karara, Jamata, Banda, Kungbami, Ohono and Akpanya communities along the Lokoja- Koton Karfe axis and additional work on Isanlu township road. These projects are expected to be completed before the expiration of the Governor Idris’ tenure.
The electrification project was awarded to the New Moon Nigeria Ltd at N300 million while the Isanlu township roads will be handled by TEC Engineering Company at N53.6 million.
Kogi Government has awarded a N300 million contract six communities on Lokoja-Koton Karfe trunk line.
The Commissioner for information, Mr Tom Ohikere, told the newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday that the scope of the project covered the stepping down and provision of 300 kva transformers in each of the communities.
He said the additional work on the Isanlu township road will include provision of drainages, roundabout and expansion of the 4.1 kilometre road.
Ohikere assured that all the ongoing projects in the state would be completed within the tenure of the administration.
