Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has congratulated the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for their tireless efforts in saving lives through their effective quality control mechanism for over 24 years.
The governor who was at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday as guest at the 25th Anniversary celebration of the agency.
“I want to congratulate NAFDAC for their tireless dedication and commitment in ensuring that adulterated drugs and food substance have no place in our society today. They have been doing so for 25 years today irrespective of various challenges the agency has been facing in the hands of smugglers so, on a day like this, I join other well meaning Nigerians to congratulate the agency for their untiring efforts in fight against fake drugs and adulterated food substances”, the governor said.
The First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari receiving the Grand Diamond Award which was presented to her by the Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.
Former agency’s boss, Prof. Dora Nkem Akunyili was also given a posthumous lifetime achievement award and was received by her husband, Dr. Chike Akunyili.
