Gov Ododo Will Give Sports, Youth Devt Special Attention – Commissioner

Kogi State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe says the Ministry will be given facelift and necessary attention under Governor Usman Ododo.

Anyebe stated this shortly after taking over affairs of the Ministry in Lokoja on Monday.

He said the present administration under Governor Usman Ododo has total passion for sports and youth development in the state. hence efforts will be intensified to attain set objectives.

The Commissioner explained that his coming to the Ministry was a mandate of the Governor to get things right towards the progress and development of the Ministry and the state in general.

According to him, as a youthful Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo would ensure the state witness tremendous achievement in the sector.

He noted that the Governor has put in place adequate measures to address all the challenges confronting the Ministry to ensure total development in the ministry.

While addressing management and staff of the Ministry, Anyebe advised them to take their work seriously for the good of the state.

The Commissioner also warned that his leadership would not welcome lateness, absenteeism and rumour mongering, saying everyone should face his or her business while in office to ensure smooth working relationship.

He promised to run an open door leadership that will bring accelerated progress and development to the ministry and advised against what he described as “pull him down syndrome”.

Shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership of the Ministry, the commissioner later paid an on the spot assessment visit to the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.

He assured that the present administration under Governor Usman Ododo will make the stadium the best for sporting activities, both in Nigeria and beyond.

The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to the Governor for appointing him into his cabinet and promised to deliver in line with the mandate.

Speaking on behalf of the staff and management, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Baje Janet Mojisola welcomed the new Commissioner to the Ministry and assured of maximum cooperation.

The Information Officer of the Ministry, James Sani, reports that all Heads of the departments were present at the handing and taking over ceremony.
