…Senate Hopeful Chief Joe Erico Flags Off Water, Solar Installation, Commends Boots on Ground
The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has flagged off the building renovation, solar installation, close circuit camera television (CCTV) installation and perimeter fencing of the Ogugu Army Forward Base (FOB) facility, cited in Ogugu, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, to boost internal security of the state.
The Governor, who was represented by security expert and CEO of Real Strikers Security LTD Outfit, Dr Joseph Erico, a leading senatorial aspirant from Kogi East, led a coterie of Kogi East and Olamaboro stakeholders for the conduct of the event.

The Captain of the Forward Base, Capt. Ochigbo commended the Governor for responding swiftly to their call for welfare and facility upgrade to ease their operations in the region which many locals say have improved local security tremendously.
Chief Erico commended the Governor for his proactive approach to security matters, tagging him a security conscious Governor that prioritizes the lives of his indigenes without paying lip service to the issue of security.
He further noted that the Governor instructed him to inspect the facility, conduct needs assessment and security risks around the facility in order to provide necessary relief in upgrade of the facility. He mentioned the immediate installation of a borehole facility with the engineer, Mosco Engineering and Borehole Services, already mobilized to site. He assured the military personnel on ground of continuous support, pledging to install a CCTV camera for surveillance, solar power, perimeter fencing and rebuilding of damaged infrastructure within the facility.


He commended the Governor for giving him the opportunity to liaise with his people in bringing development to the land.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor on Ankpa Federal Constituency axis, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Ahmed extoled the Governor’s alertness to a 24/7 security of lives and property of the people of Kogi State.
He revealed how it took less than 48 hours for the Governor to respond to his report on the renovation of the facility which was a demand from the Ogugu Development Union Association, along the axis which culminated into the epoch event of sending Dr Joe Erico to attend to the issue, pledging to dispose all necessary support towards the project.
The Ogugu Development Union President, Deacon Samuel Igeh, commended the Governor for his swift response to the plea of the community, an event he tagged unprecedented due to the usual bureaucracy usually associated with government officials. He praised Dr Erico, a son of Olamaboro LGA, for also rising to the occasion.
In addition, the Youth Leader of Emenega, Comrade Bamaiyi Ikwuji noted that the presence of the military personnel has reconnected the corridor of the Olamaboro axis to South East Nigeria, via Enugu, which was previously impassable due to free for all activities of kidnappers within the axis. He also mentioned that the Inele/Ikem/Adum Ogugu Road has been reopened to traffic after been shut for about two years due to kidnapping and banditry on that corridor.
He said the road has lessened travel time for South Easterners by almost four hours from Abuja, the Federal Capital territory. He also appealed to the Governor to look into the Onyi-Ogugu-Ofante road which is almost impassable due to the dilapidation of the road.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of the incoming council elections in the state, Comr. Achor Emmanuel extoled the sterling qualities of the Governor in security, youth inclusion in governance structure and his overall disposition towards the wellbeing of Kogites.

Monday Ejiga, APC Ogugu Ward 3 Councilorship Candidate, Abutu Samuel, FAWASS Women Group and other socio-political organizations.
