Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has promised to ensure that the road linking Odo-Ere and Igbaruku communities in Yagba West local government of Kogi state is considered for immediate construction within the shortest possible time for the use and comforts of the people of the communities.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, the Governor made the promise during the 2025 Igbaruku Community Day celebration on Saturday.
Dr. Ayoade stated that she would use her office to lobby her Governor Ododo and other members of the state executive council to deploy the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA) to come and access the road projects and commence construction as soon as possible to enhance the benefit for improved livelihood of the people.
Also speaking at the occasion, an illustrious son of the Igbaruku community, Engineer Oluwasegun Joseph said that the occasion marked a significant milestone in the historical antecedence of the community giving the fact that a large number of dignitaries from within and outside of the state gathered in the community to honour the good people of Igbaruku community and they were able to experience the beautiful cultural heritage of the community.

While expressing gratitude to Governor Ododo for the opportunity to be part of his administration’s key officers, the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Development pledged to continue to do his best towards the overall success of the administration agenda, policies and programs in the state.
The Commissioner equally reiterated that he would continue to do his best as a good ambassador of Igbaruku community, stating that he would ensure that he attracts more meaningful development for the community and its people.

Earlier, in his opening speech, the National President of Igbaruku Okeri Development Association, Elder Olusegun Ogunkolo noted that the year 2025 Igbaruku Community Day celebration serves as a significant occasion to celebrate the cultural heritage of the community and an avenue of bringing together the sons and daughters of the community from all over the globe back home to their ancestral roots and for them to contribute to their own quota towards the overall development of their home land.
