Gov Ododo Inaugurates Governance Delivery Unit

Governor Usman Ododo has launched the Governance Delivery Unit (GDU), a pioneering initiative aimed at transforming the state’s governance structure.

GDU was launched at a stakeholders engagement declared open by Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Secretary to the State Government.

Dr Ayoade said the establishment of GDU is a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to excellence and resilience in governance.

She noted that with the support of renowned partners like PWC, the state is poised for unprecedented growth and development.

Coordinator of the Governance Delivery Unit, Dr. Olusiji Aina, commended Governor Ododo for his commitment to good governance.

“Posterity will indeed remember His Excellency for fostering a governance structure that will resonate through generations to come,” Amb. Olusiji Aina said.

He explained that strategic planning and prioritization will the priority areas of focus, aligning resources with immediate needs and long-term vision.

“GDU will establish clear metrics for progress assessment with emphasis on performance management and monitoring. The unit will ensure seamless execution of projects for meaningful contributions and will confront challenges head-on.

“On reporting and accountability, the GDU will foster transparency and accountability. It will enhance skills and competencies through capacity building and training.

“Also, GDU will embrace change to foster innovation and improvement while leveraging on data analysis and evidence-based decision making,” he said.

In his remark, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, Yahaya Shehu Ahmed said the GDU will work tirelessly to ensure the ambitions of the 32-year developmental agenda are met.
