Gov Bello Promises Best Working Condition for NYSC Members

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi on Wednesday pledged to provide the best working condition and adequate security for NYSC members deployed to the state for service year.
The governor gave the assurance at the closing ceremony of the 2, 075 corps members deployed to the state for the 2018 Batch ‘A’ mobilisation at NYSC orientation camp, Asaya, Kabba.
“The New Direction government of Kogi State is ready to provide the best working condition, coopcration and partnerships towards attaining the spelt out values of the National Service.
“Although, tribes, faith, orientation and exposure may differ, Kogi is indeed a confluence of opportunities known for hospitality and this reputation guarantees you all of safety and great promises in the land.
“Bound in brotherhood of one indivisible nation and feel at home throughout the service year and beyond,” Bello said.
Bello, who was represented by Mr Sani Salisu, the State Commissioner Youth and Sports Development, commended the corps members for their good conduct during camping, and congratulated them for holding the national virtue of good discipline.
He, therefore, urged the NYSC members to remain patriotic, loyal and play active role in the pursuit of the common goal of a united, strong and indivisible nation.
Earlier, the State Coordinator, Mrs Oludolapo Ahile, urged the corps members to play role models to their host communities and make the people economically vibrant and self sustained.
“The vision of NYSC is to develop a sound and result oriented organisation that is committed to its set objectives particularly national unity, peace and development; a source of pride and fulfillment to its participating graduate youths.
“The clarity of this vision places the corps members and the scheme in a very unique position which we strive to uphold,” Ahile said.
She urged them to excel and become the next generation of achievers and leaders who would be committed to selfless service to their host communities and nation at large.
The state coordinator expressed her gratitude to the governor for the on-going renovation of the Orientation Camp, perimeter fencing of the camp and construction of more hostels and quarters for camp officials.
“We are indeed very grateful, it is our fervent hope that the contractor would speed up work in the completion of the laudable project”, she said.
