Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has sent his warm greetings and best wishes to Nobel Laureate and literary giant, Prof Wole Soyinka on his 85th Birthday.
In a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, Governor Bello described the literary stalwart as one of Nigeria’s exceptional pride and a global label.
While joining the family and friends of the first-rate academic in marking the many years of remarkable acquirements, the Governor said, “Soyinka in a wide cultural perspective and with poetic overtones fashions the drama of existence that cumulated in winning the 84th Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 that has brought pride to Nigerians, Africans and the Negroes.”
The Governor hails Prof Soyinka for his intellectual standing, contributions to the development of the nation through his ceaseless writings and remarks, desire for egalitarianism, and resilient in demanding accountability from leaders at all levels.
Bello attests that Prof Akinwade Oluwole Soyinka has woven his unique story into the global folklore through impassioned writing with wide horizons, characterized by sensuous intelligence and humanistic integrity.
The Governor congratulated the literary icon for showcasing Nigerian and African values to the world while wishing him more years of good health, and service to the nation.
