Glory Land Polytechnic Honours Ankpa Lawmaker, Hon Akus Lawal With Award of Excellence

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the educational sector, the member representing Ankpa I in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Akus Lawal has received an award of excellence from Glory Land Polytechnic, Ankpa.

The proprietress of the school, Hajiya Vivian Idama, presented the award during the Cultural Day celebration held in the school recently.

Hajiya Idama disclosed that the presentation of the award was to acknowledge the overwhelming contributions of Hon. Akus to the development of education in Ankpa Local government, Kogi State abd Nigeria through his Educational Foundation Initiative.

She showered encomiums on the vibrant lawmaker for awarding scholarships to Ankpa students – a legacy she described as unprecedented and would remain evergreen in the memories of the people of the local government.

On his part, Hon. Akus appreciated the school for the recognition, promising to stay focused in the development of education and other areas of need in his constituency and beyond.

“My drive to take education to next level in my Constituency and Nigeria in general is on course. Education remains the bedrock of any nation. When you are educated, you can not be deformed. Education bring life, fresh air and reduces some of the problem confronting our nation today.

” During my campaign to seek my People’s blessings to represent them in the current Assembly, I promised to revamp our education system and ensure that all eligible individuals from Ankpa State Constituency goes to school. This by the special grace of God I won’t relenting in achieving.

“I dedicate this award to God Almighty and the entire people of Ankpa State Constituency for their support and for always believing in me that I will deliver through dividends of democracy at the grassroots. I promise to always sponsor bills, move motions that will not just bring about development to Ankpa State Constituency and to ensure that Kogi State remains in the map of good governance” he stated.
