Condolence Message from QS Aminu A. Suleiman

As-Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

This week, Bassa-Nge Kingdom laid a king and a general to rest, but Nigeria lost a strategist shaped by discipline and selfless service—Brigadier General Abu Ali (Rtd).

General Abu Ali was more than an officer and traditional ruler. He became a symbol of leadership built on structure, responsibility anchored on conscience, and unity sustained by service. His life affirmed a timeless truth: leadership is not defined by duration, but by the ability to leave an influence that continues to grow, even after the leader has departed.

From military command to public administration and traditional authority, Abu Ali led with ethics over spectacle, authority without oppression, and service without self-interest. His stewardship strengthened institutions, stabilized communities, mentored youth, and infused development consciousness into the fabric of his kingdom and the nation.

At moments like these, power reveals its nature and leadership reveals its weight. What fades when power ends was never leadership. What continues long after departure is the leadership that matters.

We pray Allah forgive the departed, elevate his standing among the honored, and grant strength and patience to his family and the Bassa-Nge Kingdom.

Signed:
