The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Federal University of Education Pankshin, Hon. Dr. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko has inaugurated Professor Noel Wannang as a substantive Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Plateau State today at university auditorium.
In a speech delivered by the Honourable Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Olumoko, the inauguration of the new Vice- Chancellor marks the beginning of the reaffirmation of collective commitment to the noble ideals of knowledge transformation and the preparation of the university for profound academic excellence and impact through teachers’ training and building educational leaders.
He maintained that, a University of Education occupies a unique and critical place in national development. The teachers we train do not simply transmit knowledge; they shape minds, nurture character, and inspire future generations. The leadership of such an institution, therefore, demands vision, integrity, academic excellence, and an unwavering belief in the power of education to change lives.
He further noted, given the citation of Professor Wannang distinguished CV, said he is a scholar and experienced administrator. According to Olumoko, Wanang has over the years demonstrated exceptional dedication to teaching, research, and service. “His academic credentials, leadership experience, and contributions to teacher education and educational policy speak eloquently of a career marked by excellence and impact”, he said.
He prayed for Professor Noel Wannang, that his tenure will be marked by wisdom, courage, innovation, and service. In his words, may this university flourish under your leadership, and may your work leave an enduring legacy for generations yet unborn, he said
