Free Rural Medical Service Ongoing in Kogi State

The Free Rural Medical Service offered to the people of Kogi State is a fulfillment of promise made and the importance Government attaches to the peoples health need.

The Kogi State Governor Capt Idris Wada made this known while inspecting the on going Free Rural Health Programme in the State in Agassa, Okene Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor who described good health as wealth,says the transformation agenda of his administration is anchored on the wellness of the people.

Represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, the Health programme he explained which is aimed at bringing quality health care to the people and to their door steps has recorded much impact.

The health programme which the Governor also disclosed has become a policy thrust of his administration will be sustained, is geared towards improving productivity.

The Governor commended the health personnel handling the exercise for their level of improvisation, lauded the turnout of the programme.

Earlier in his speech, Dr Attah Ahmed, Leader of of the Medical team disclosed that the team treats about 600 persons on daily basis,says aside the carrying out of surgeries,it also offers health education talk and offers other health services like HIV, Blood and Weight testing.

While expressing gratitude for the gesture done the community by the state government, Musa Ibrahim the Ward Head of Agassa, thanked the State government for the free service adding that it would not have come at a better time than now.
