The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Kogi Sector, has confirmed that seven persons including four students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) lost their lives in an auto crash involving an articulated vehicle and a shuttle bus in Lokoja on Monday.
Kogi Sector FRSC Commander, Mr Samuel Oyedeji, made this known in Lokoja on Monday while briefing newsmen, attributing the accident to brake failure.
Oyedeji said the articulated vehicle, allegedly traveling from the southern part of the country, was heading towards Abuja, when the incident occurred at Felele along the Okene – Lokoja – Abuja road.
The students were on their way to Felele, Lokoja permanent campus of the university in a campus shuttle bus when the accident occurred.
The driver of the shuttle bus was among those who died in the accident.
Two other dead victims of the accident were also believed to be students but this has not been established.
